I'm a veritable UN

Love when foreign words are the same in English. It makes me feel super international and smart. Like a spy or something. For example:

  • "Los blue jeans" are "blue jeans" in Spanish. Also "vaqueros," but come on. "Los blue jeans" is so much more fun to say.

  • Then of course you've got "croissant" and "croissant." En francais, s'il vous plait.

  • I'll bet you can guess what the German "kreditkarte" is in English...

And yes, these three simple words or phrases could easily get me through a European vacation. Just sayin'.

  1. I also love the ones that don't mean the same thing in both languages--like "douche".
