A philosophical quandary

Similar to "if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one around to hear it, does it make a sound," I present:

If, on an early morning walk, my dog poops in the park and it's so dark I can't see where she did it so I can't pick it up, does that make me a terrible person?

I say no.
